This afternoon we went out with Aunt Laura to do a craft at a craft store. She made valentines that could be used as a decoration. We walked around the store and Leanna got a lesson in spending money and counting out her money.


She had a little over $2.00 and she had to choose which things to buy with it and figure out if she had enough money to cover that extra thing. She bought two little cardboard chests-one Hannah Montana, one High School Musical, and a little wooden dolphin. Then we went to Joann's and browsed.

*We read and discussed two chapters in Science 2 for Christian Schools
*We observed the Wolf Moon and read about it. 
*essay with four paragraphs on why she should have my Shirley Temple doll.

*Art Class at the Baum today for 2 hours-watercolor drawings and painting their clay figures. Walked through the galleries today afterclass as well.
*2 reading comprehension sheets
*2 worksheets for practicing editing.
*Reading Ramona the Pest by Beverly Cleary
Brownies-drew pictures to match the Girl Scout law and promise.

Schoolwork accomplished:

*Some pages in Volcano workbook
****Justin knew some answers that Leanna did not know*****
*More math workbook-only 1 1/2 pages to finish!
*Secret Garden book finished.


Justin worked on learning to tell time.
Timothy colored a car picture with me (from a Melissa and Doug book).

This has NOT been a good week for school.  I would normally have worked more with Leanna at night to catch up, but tomorrow is our early & busy day.  Particularly so since I have a dentist's appt. and so I have to be ready for the babysitting arrangements!

Not a good day for us-Leanna was very uncooporative. 
Schoolwork accomplished:
*Several pages in her regular math workbook.
*Multiple pages in her Multip./Division workbook (only 5 pages left)
*More work in her Volcano/Earthquake book too (only 6 1/2 pages left)
*All last week's geography problems-The pacific region
*A very short entry in her "journal" book, an addition to the Angela story.
*We read another chapter in The Secret Garden
*She finished Ramona and Beezus by Beverly Cleary.  Again.

Today's Work:

*Multiplication workbook-3/4 done.
*Spelling List 10 Test
*Re-Write words spelled wrong 5X each.
*Re-Write same wrong words another 5X each.  (Leanna's surprise for me)
*A bit of painting & drawing with Deb.
*Walking to and from Pinebrook.
*Volcano/Earthquake/Tsunami workbook-3/4 done.  We read and discussed the information and she did excersizes.
* A chapter of The Secret Garden

Last Friday night I found several workbooks for $1.00 each, and the multiplication one turned out to actually be only 50 cents.  I was thrilled, especially since I had trouble finding age appropriate material on volcanoes online.

This blog will be for us to keep track of some of our homeschooling work and projects. Leanna can blog here also.
She's wanted to blog for a while, and occasionally types things on my other blog. Since blogging motivates her, it might be a nice way to give her writing practice.
