Stressful day, not much accomplished. 

*The Little House in the Big Woods lapbook is sucsessfully assembled.  It just needs some finishing details.  She presented it to her father tonight.  She needs practice explaining what it contains.
*She did some reading on her own, the version of Heidi she got for Christmas, The Happy Holisters, and a bit of review with Little House in the Big Woods.
*Double-sided handwritting sheet
*Read an online biography of Mark Twain & discussed him.
* copied 3 lists of spelling lists, each word copied twice.

Schoolwork Accomplished:

*Started with Little House on the Prairie Lapbook-sewing pocket, reading poem &; drawing, coloring pictures, cutting out the smokehouse, copywork, copying a Valentine's poem & writing a short one of her own, some drawing designs, answering questions about the book, talked about gun safety.  This doesn't sound like much, but was actually a few hour's work. 

*Leanna started a simple sewing project of her own
*We reviewed math multiplication flashcards

*2 book report type worksheets on Secret Garden
*discussion of Secret Garden
*jumprope practice
*walking to and from pinebrook
*painting with Deb at pinebrook
*Leanna finished Standing in the Light by Mary Pope Osbourne
*We discussed Standing in the light, using questions and passages I found on the website above. 
*I read some Emily Dickinson to her, way above her head, but meant to just begin to give her a feel for real poetry, beyond the silly kid's rhyming poetry.
