Schoolwork Accomplished:

*Leanna painted a few watercolor pictures.
*I read background info on expressionism and Vincent Van Gogh to Leanna, then she began and crayon and watercolor version of "Starry Night."  Then she made a second version when the black watercolor was too dark and overshadowed the crayons.  She also painted her own version using an outline and her own color choices.
*She did 3 pages of George Washington copywork-a quote and then putting it in her own words.
*She did a sheet of practice cursive.
*Silent Reading-Fever 1793 by Laurie Hales Anederson.
*a bit of music with recorder practice.
*Leanna did 4 1/2 pages of fractions (the first four went rather quickly, we got stuck on the last page-greatest common factor.  She did the whole page but the last half was all wrong.  So proud of her for willingly plowing through!

*Justin-we put "My Autumn Book" together and talked about fall. (read, colored, drew, and stapled together a booklet)
*He did a practice alphabet with a dry erase board.
*He painted a few pictures and experimented with making colors.
*He did a page in the alphabet book but painted it instead of just coloring it in.

*Timothy-we put "My Autumn Book" together and talked about fall.(read, colored, drew, and stapled together a booklet)
*He did a practice alphabet with a dry erase board.

Schoolwork Accomplished:

*sketching in her art notebook
*baked a cake and made her own icing (with Harry's help)
*Researched George Washington and completed a worksheet about it.
*Completed a week's worth of geography in her book.
*Computer play-with her brothers too.
*We read the Story of the World-chapter 2.

*Our plans for the day were ruined when Tom came home early with Harry.  Once they arrived it meant a loud tv was on and I had work to do.  They brought over a pot of speghetti sauce and wanted me to make noodles and I had to clean up to make room for his crock pot and to start the noodles.  Straightening up the living room and kitchen took up my free time and then Laura came over......so we left early for our Friday night ritual.   We did not get to our planned schoolwork, even if I didn't have to clean up, it was too loud and chaotic once Tom & Harry arrived.

Field Trip Day!  Me & the kids took a bus out to Celtic Fest.  We saw bag pipe bands, lots of kilts, some of the Irish Step-Dancing (tall people kept shoving in front of us, completely blocking our view, and heard Irish bands!  We didn't have the money to try any of the Irish food though.  But still fun, something different, and a way to experience our heritage.
