*We read two chapters of The Long Winter and Leanna drew a few illustrations for the book as I read it.
*Justin did 3 pages of math with me which he brought to me all on his own. (!!)
Grammy was over again to help watch the kids while Jacob went to yet another dentist and they still did nothing. The boys played outside off and on. All three kids were on the computer (webkinz & PopTropica)

Leanna:
*Silent reading-The Prince and the Pauper
*Geography Lessons 23 and 24
Reviewed The Middle Ages: unit 3& part of 4
*We finished By the Shores of Silver Lake
*Timothy-finally finished fact families-will have to come back to this later to make sure he's understanding.
*Justin-math workbook-4 pages
*Pop Pop played I Spy games with them (surprisingly patient with them) Leanna and Justin helped with dishes too. They spent time with Grammy and Pop-Pop while we took Jacob to the dentist and then I went to the store with Grammy.
The first to dream of building the International Space Station (ISS) was the United States. In 1984, Ronald Reagan, the then president of the United States, announced his support to build a base in space where people could live and conduct research. He believed that this project should be realized through international cooperation.
Through an appeal by the United States, the European countries decided to join in 1985, followed by Canada and Japan. In 1993, Russia agreed to join. Now, with the participation of 15 countries, it has truly become a great global project.
The flags below represent the 15 countries participating in the International Space Station (ISS) project.

Schoolwork Accomplished:
Leanna:
*Science experiments using the orange science kit. We did the fizzy colors in the test tubes. We did the crystalized gell balls, and the instant snow experiments.
*Science experiments using baking soda, vinegar, salt, lemon, orange....just combining ingredients and different amounts.
*Silent Reading-The Prince and the Pauper
*More discussion on reduce, reuse, and recycle as we reviewed her pollution mini-lesson
*She read lesson 3 of The Middle Ages Unit Study and answered questions. discussion.
*Sketching
*We read two chapters in By the Shores of Silver Lake
All: We watched some semi-educational TMBG and animaniacs videos. And sang along with Istanbul (one of our favorites).
Timothy agonized over fact families and I read him and Jacob Madeline. He did a single baking soda and vinegar explosion.
Justin did a page in his math workbook as well, with more success. Justin participated in Leanna's experiments and did many baking soda, vinegar, salt, lemon, and orange combinations.
