I haven't been posting much because of the court case and all the anxiety. We didn't do any "school" on Thursday or Friday, although she did have art class and Brownies on Thursday and on Friday she was able to observe a real live court in action. Not as dramatic as on tv, this court had only the two parties and the judge. But certainly it was an educational experience. I think it was either Thursday or Friday afternoon that she did a science kit that she got for Christmas, Ultimate Illusions: Adventure Science Series. She did experiments with mirrors and water, made a rainbow and a periscope (her favorite). She practiced counting out money over the weekend when we walked to the store. And we did read some Alice: Through the looking glass over the weekend, and Leanna always does reading on her own.
Schoolwork accomplished today:
*Some double digit X double digit math problems (about 8, it's pretty slow-going)
*3 math workbook pages (done entirely on her own)
*walked to and from Pinebrook
*practiced counting out money at Wawas to pay for a dougnut
*played games with Deb
*Read free Science book Unit 3 and answered questions from the first chapter in it-about inherrited traits and species.
*Hours later we went over the science section that she answered questions for and talked about it. She clearly understood and remembered it.
*Wrote a paragraph of the Angela story
Not a lot, but we also did packing and all four kids got a bath tonight, plus I went to Staples with Laura to get more black printer ink, and I did two loads of dishes and two loads of laundry, and cleaned in the boys' room, and straightened in the kitchen. It doesn't at all look like I did much here, but I really did.
*We read a chapter in Alice: Through the Looking Glass
