Leanna came down on her own today, dressed already and sat down at the kitchen table and began answering her three sheets of questions about the second chapter of the free science book. (I was quite impressed. She's trying to finish in time to go out and play with Amira today)
After that she added a chapter to her Angela story. She started some multiplication, but didn't get very far on that, as I started printing out some punctuation and comma worksheets (Leanna needs a lot of practice in that area!) and so Leanna did one on her own, which I corrected and explained to her. Then I worked with her on another excellent one from http://www.englishforeveryone.org/ It was three pages but there was an example for each section. She needs more practice, but she was starting to get it! Which is encouraging. Then she was asking to go outside with her brothers. Since it's supposed to be the last nice day outside, I let her take a break and go get some sunshine, fresh air, and excersize. She cleared out a space in the middle of the backyard and swept. Then she had me come out and watch a show she put on where she balanced a handle on various parts of her body.
She did one more sheet on paragraph correction. And an entry in her regular journal, which is really just another story. I gave her a spelling test on list 13 (two wrong out of 20, she didn't get the bonus word)
Later at night she sat down and started working on a comma worksheet I had printed for the next day's work.
And we really need to work more on drilling those multiplication facts, and finish that double digit X double digit worksheet today!
We read more Alice: Through the Looking Glass at night.
